Communication Access to Justice (CAJust) is excited to announce that we are once again offering Communication Intermediary (CI) training! This session is meant for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) across Canada with two or more years of clinical experience. Successful completion of this training allows eligible participants to be listed on CAJust’s national CI registry.

Even if you are not an SLP with two or more years of clinical experience, you are still welcome to attend! Non-SLPs, new graduates, and existing CIs who are interested in a refresher to register, may all register. However, only experienced SLPs are eligible for the national registry following the training.

Event Details:

  • Date: April 22nd, 2026

  • Time: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm CT

  • Cost: $50.00 (one-time fee)

During this full-day session, we will:

  • Explain the CI service model in Canada.

  • Outline the specific roles and responsibilities of a CI.

  • Provide CI practice principles and guidelines.

  • Familiarize participants with the Canadian criminal justice system.

  • Review recent court decisions impacting CI practice.

In the interest of expanding the number of trained and practicing CIs nationally, we encourage all interested parties to join us. Participants can register through Eventbrite today.
